With that, Mohn's memories are restored and embraced his family along with their Pokémon, unfortunately leaving Lillie to become distressed and think that Mohn no longer needed it anymore. With their friends' help, Lillie, Gladion, and Lusamine managed to help Mohn snap out of his amnesia by showing him his clothing and his reflection in the mirror. Lillie then goes to attack Lusamine, but the human Lillie stopped it and thanked it for saving her father. Thankfully, Ash, his Pikachu, Goh, and Chloe, who also arrive from Kanto to investigate an unknown Pokémon (the Ultra Beast Lillie itself), arrive to defend her. When the human Lillie discovers the mirror the Ultra Beast hid in the drawers, it goes to attack her. As the human Lillie looks around, she starts playing the notes on the piano, which attracts the Ultra Beast's attention. The children decide to go look for clues while Lusamine goes to talk with her husband and help regain his memories. She reminds him that if he goes to attack it mercilessly in front of Mohn, he'd react differently. She tells him that Mohn isn't in danger and his amnesia caused him to believe that the shiny Nihilego is Lillie. Gladion ordered his Zoroark to attack Lillie, but was immediately stopped by his mother as it disappeared. They were also surprised to discover that he'd been living with an Ultra Beast the entire time. He later introduced them to "his daughter", Lillie, who was playing on the piano at the time. However, much to their shocking surprise, he doesn't remember them because of his amnesia. Years later, Mohn was reunited with his family after they traveled miles from their home in Alola looking for him. Then, it took on an illusionary version of his daughter and did a lot of human things like playing the piano and eating at the dinner table. It even hid his old clothing so he wouldn't find them.

Hoping to continue spending more time with Mohn and not feel lonely, Nihilego, now named Lillie, removed all the mirrors and made all the windows in the cabin filthy so that Mohn would not see his reflection. His head trauma also caused him to believe that Nihilego is his own daughter due to its shiny appearance and feminine personality. Since then, the impact from Mohn's fall while being saved by Nihilego caused him to hit his head in Ultra Deep Space, making him suffer amnesia and forget about his family life. Nihilego then nursed Mohn back to health and, when he woke up, he muttered "Lillie." It took him through another wormhole, and they end up in the Crown Tundra in the Galar region, where they seek shelter in an old cabin. Nihilego tapped into his memories and learned about his family life with Lusamine, Gladion, and Lillie. Nihilego panicked and caught Mohn moments before impact. Then one day, an Ultra Wormhole opened above it, and a man named Mohn fell down from it. It was sad and lonely, for all it wanted was a friend. Nihilego started off living normally in Ultra Deep Sea with several of its kind, but this particular Nihilego was nothing like the others.
